Just as Workplace for Windows and Mac offers a convenient way to continue your work, the Workplace Mobile App is a handy way to keep in sync by accessing your company files and directory.
On the home screen you have your personal folder, shared folders and Secure browser Downloads folder, as well as your starred files and folders.
Let’s check out Search! In the search field above your Folder list, for this demonstration, we'll type "Event" to search for our presentation template. Here are the search results.
To the right of the presentation document, tap the hamburger menu to see a list of action items that including starring the file, sharing a link to the file, or saving it to your downloads folder.
Let's star the file to pin it to my home screen, under starred files and folders.
Tap the file to preview it.
To get back to the search screen, Tap the x, and then clear your search field by tapping the x.
Files
While I was waiting at the airport the other day, I downloaded a current Form 1040 on my phone. I'd like to add this to my Workplace files. I'll open a folder, which in this case is my Personal folder. I'm going to tap the plus sign and create a new folder called Tax Forms. Then I'll tap Create. I'll tap on my new folder, then I'll tap on the + sign. I'll tap Upload files, where I'll select my Form 1040 to upload to my new folder.
Resources
Now let’s take a look at the directory. You can tap All Users to see all directory groups.
When you tap the search field, you’ll see the same access to your contacts as you would in your native Contacts app, including text and voice call buttons.
In the More section, you can tap Device Security to view all of your devices connected to Workplace.
Some mobile devices offer biometric authentication, which you can set up here, as well as change your Workplace PIN.
Offline code means that when you need to work on your computer but your phone doesn’t have cell or wi-fi service to give you sign-in verification, you can obtain a unique, one-time Offline Code from your mobile device to continue with Workplace on your Windows or Mac device.
Go to Unlink Device if you want to unlink your mobile device, such as when you no longer plan to use Workplace on it. To re-enable your device for work, you may have to grant access from another mobile workplace device, or call support.
As you can see, you’ve got all of your work at your fingertips, right on your mobile device.
In the next module of the Workplace Stronghold 103 course, you're going to practice what you've learned with an Exploration exercise.
