In the last few lessons, we discovered some administrative features in Modern Workplace. However, many of the company and user settings still live on the Classic Webtop company manager page. (pop out) The links in this section will take you directly to your Users, Group and Company settings.
Let's start with our Company. Click "View all settings," and you'll be redirected to Classic Workplace.
Select Company. In the Basic info section you'll find policies that apply to everyone in your company, such as the name of your company, and your location.
When you select Security options, you'll notice that the password policy is in place for all users. You'll also notice an expiration policy for your Web app. What this means in this example, is that if a user has no Workplace activity for two hours, they will be logged out. The next time they want to log in, they'll have to enter their credentials.
As mentioned in CM:102 Access Policies, you can also limit login access to Workplace by specific countries at the company level.
For example, by default your company might allow user login from the US and Canada only. To add or remove countries, Click Edit, and uncheck All to see the full list of countries to choose from. Check the ones you want to include, and click Save changes when you're done.
For Company managers, there is also a setting to limit proxy access into an account. You have the option to change proxy access, for instance when you travel, under the Allow login as only from the following countries option, which by default should include US and Canada. Click Edit, and from the pulldown menu, choose if this restriction is for the parent company only, or parent and child companies. Here you'll see the same extensive list of countries to choose from. Click Save changes when you're done.
You can also set this access policy on the individual user level. For example, you might have an agent who travels and needs login access in certain countries. Feel free to explore that option under a user's Security options.
If you have any questions, or would like to make changes to, Branding, Email domains, New user defaults and Email templates- we recommend that you reach out to support for assistance.
A useful feature within company settings is Recent changes. Here you can view any changes made by Company Managers to your company, group or user settings. Those changes are logged, so you'll know who made what changes, in case you need to reproduce that data.
Please take a moment to view your own Company settings.
