Overview
Depending on your company's configuration, you may be using our classic Workplace Work Folder file structure:
- Work (your name)
- Work (Groups)
- Work (Public)
Or, you may have the modern Workplace Files Structure that includes these folders:
- Your Name
- Company Name
- Shared Folders

Just as the Workplace desktop apps offer a convenient way to continue your work, the Workplace mobile apps are a handy way to keep in sync by accessing your company files and directory.
On the main page you have your three main folders, as well as starred files and folders front and center.
Let's check out search. To the right of the document you'll see the more (vertical ellipsis) button.
In this menu you can:
- Star the file
- Send the link
- Break the link
- Save it to your downloads folder
- Edit it in Word
Tap on the file to preview it. In the lower right-hand corner you'll see the edit button if you'd like to launch the document in Word.
Click the x to get back to the search screen. Tap files.
Tap on a folder. You'll see a sort button at the top. And you'll find a search button for that folder.
Click the + sign to upload a file, create a new folder or Office document.
Let's look at the directory. You can click on All Users to see all directory groups. You’ll see the same access as you would in your native contacts app, including email, text and call buttons links.
On the Help screen you'll find the quick access to the support desk, as well as a link to troubleshoot on your own.

Get Office 365
You can also download Office. You'll be taken to the App Store or Google Play, and then all you have to do is sign in with your Office 365 Credentials.
Device security
You can tap on Device security to view all of your devices connected to Workplace. You can log out of all other sessions if you feel you may have left them unattended.
Pin and fingerprint
Some mobile devices offer touch ID. You can set that up in the Mobile app, as well as change your Workplace PIN.
Offline code
When you need to work on your computer but your phone doesn’t have cell or wi-fi service to give you sign-in verification, you can obtain a unique, one-time Offline Code from your mobile device to continue with Workplace on your Windows or Mac device.
Unlink device
You may want to unlink your device if you no longer plan to work on the device. To re-enable your device for work, you may have to grant access from another mobile workplace device, or call support.
As you can see, you’ve got all of your work at your fingertips, right on your mobile device.

Just as the Workplace for Windows and Mac offers a convenient way to continue your work, the Workplace Mobile App is a handy way to keep in sync by accessing your company files and directory.
On the home screen you have your personal folder, company folder and shared folders and and links, as well as your starred files and folders.
Let’s check out Search! In the search field above your Folder list, we’ll type “onboarding.” Here is the New Client Onboarding doc.
To the right of the document, tap the hamburger menu to see a list of action items that including starring the file, sharing a link to the file, or saving it to your downloads folder. Or, simply tap the file to preview it.
To get back to the search screen, Tap the x, and then clear your search field by tapping the x.
When you tap inside one of the main folders, you can also conduct a search. For instance, when we tap the Personal folder, we’ll see at the top of the screen a spyglass to conduct a search for any file or folder located in the current folder.
If you want to sort your files and folders, you’ll see a sort button at the top of the list.
We’ll go into more detail about files and folders in the next module.
