Introduction
The Workplace browser extension utilizes a token to verify your account details with Workplace. This token allows Workplace to save a website under your account when you create a bookmark with the Workplace browser extension.
In some cases when attempting to use the Workplace browser extension to bookmark a website in a hosted web browser, you may encounter the following error message:

This error message means that the hosted browser:
- Could not create a Workplace token.
- Could not find a Workplace token, typically due to a browser timeout.
- Found a Workplace token that did not match to your Workplace account.
A user must sign out of Workplace in the hosted browser and the Workplace Desktop application.
- Open the hosted browser.
- Navigate to your company sign-in page (ex: login.os33.com).
- Click Sign out in the navigation header.
- Select Close all Citrix (hosted) applications without saving your work.
Save any open documents in Citrix before continuing. - Click Close apps and sign out.
The hosted browser will be shut down in the process and will close. After signing out of Workplace in the host browser, let’s sign out of Workplace on your local computer - In your local browser, navigate to your company sign-in page (ex: login.os33.com).
- Are signed into Workplace?
- If you are signed into Workplace:
- Click Sign out in the navigation header.
- Click Sign out.
- If you are not signed into Workplace, continue to the next step.
- If you are signed into Workplace:
- Navigate to your Workplace Desktop application.
- Quit your Workplace Desktop application.
- Select Sign out but keep my synced files and click Sign out.
- Select Sign out but keep my synced files and click Sign out.
- Launch the Workplace Desktop application.
- Sign in to Workplace.
- Launch your hosted browser.
This process will ensure the authentication tokens for your hosted browser and your Workplace account are generated and match.
