In some circumstances, complex technical issues may present that require in-depth troubleshooting. To facilitate this, the admin console includes the ability to remotely generate and upload diagnostic files from the problematic computer for analysis. This feature ensures that support teams can acquire critical data points without interrupting their users. This guide will walk through the process to request remote diagnostics.
Enter the email address where you would like to be notified when the diagnostics are available and click Get diagnostics.
Diagnostics may take some time to generate and upload depending on the size of the file and the current load on the computer. User activity is always prioritized over diagnostic operations.
Viewing requested diagnostics
Once you receive email confirmation that the requested diagnostics are available:
- Locate the same device in the device inventory list
The diagnostic file will be available for download for 48 hours (time remaining to download will be displayed). After 48 hours, the file will be removed from the system. Multiple requests for diagnostic files can be made in the event variables change and new diagnostic data is needed.
